David Oyelowo is opening up about his wife Jessica needing “no acting” to express her “disgust” over his onscreen love affair with Rosamund Pike in their film A United Kingdom!
The drama-romance is based on the true story of Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana (David), who became a center of controversy in the 1940s after marrying a white woman (Rosamund).
“In real life we’re very in love; in the film she plays a racist, and she does it a little too well for my liking!,” David, 40, joked during an interview on Good Morning America on Monday (February 6) in New York City.
“She has to look at us in disgust as we hold hands (for the film),” Rosamund added, prompting David to continue to joke, “There was no acting!”
That same evening, David and Rosamund were joined by Jessica and director Amma Asante at the world premiere of A United Kingdom held at The Paris Theater.
